Prestbury Fishing Club The PFC met on 5 May 2003.
The club invites any Prestbury resident that would like to join the Prestbury Fishing Club to contact Mr. George Hauser, Marv Doty or Tom Dornback. The first item on the agenda was support for the Prestbury Fishing Derby. The club is pleased to participate again this year. We understand that the fishing derby will be held in the same place as last year, near the clubhouse Several club members will be available on the date of the fishing derby to help bait hooks, remove fish and untangle lines. The club strongly recommends that this year the derby focus on catching Carp. In that regard, we hope that most participants will bait hooks with kernel sweet corn. All carp and bullheads should be removed from the lake. The PFC will provide some containers to hold the fish removed from the lake, and later to move them to the small pond near Turtle Cove. The club will also provide boat rides, at or near the completion of the fishing derby. The club wishes to express its thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Foody of Buckingham drive for their contribution to the fishing restocking program. Thanks are also expressed to the Prestbury Citizens Association board for the contribution made for restocking. The PFC did all of the lake cleanup this year of dead shad. We understand the PCA contribution was in recognition for that effort. Many thanks to both. We also discussed the progress of the fish restocking program in Lake Prestbury and Blackberry Lake. The efforts to restock these lakes has been very successful so far. Virtually no fish have been lost, other than those picked up by birds in the area. The club again thanks the many contributors to this very successful restocking program. The club has also decided that their will be some addition new fish added in the fall from contributions received. We are adding fish based on professional advice on numbers and species. George Hauser agreed to contact Mr. Ed Powers to determine the status of the Lake fish population study. It is again asked that no carp or bullheads be returned to the Prestbury lakes.
