The August meeting of the Prestbury fishing club was held on Monday 26
August 2002 at 21 East Windsor Court.

In attendance were George Hauser, President, Steve Keierleber, Tom Dornback,
Marv Doty, and Bob Bruss.

Marv Doty reviewed a detail report on restocking in fall versus spring.  The
experienced people Marv met with suggested a number of guidelines for the
club to follow for Lake Prestbury and Lake Blackberry for this fall.

There was considerable discussion on which species of fish to stock and how
many of each.  Basically it will be bass, sunfish and minnows.  George
Hauser is going to contact the Kane County DNR to place our fall order.  The
fish will be released in both Lake Prestbury and Lake Blackberry sometime in
October.  The exact date will be published when it is obtained from the Kane
County DNR.

The fish will be paid for by the generous contributions that were received
this year from Prestbury residents, PCA, and PFC members.  Fish re-stocking
funds were also raised in the Prestbury Garage Sale in 2001 and 2002.

A new contribution for the re-stocking program was received this week from
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Mickle, 17 Cedar Gate Circle.  Thank you very much.

There was some discussion on various methods to reduce the carp population
in Lake Prestbury.  Our initial efforts will be to try to net some of the
small carp that are schooling near the surface in warm weather.  If any are
caught they will be released in the small pond south of lake prestbury.
Other ideas were also discussed on how to reduce the carp population.

All residents that fish either Prestbury lake are asked not to return carp
or bullheads to the lake.  All other fish are catch-and-release.

Everyone present agreed that there is a need for another lake cleanup
effort.  Everyone is asked to pick up any papers, plastic, bottles and cans
that may enter the Prestbury lakes.

The next meeting of the PFC is tentatively scheduled for 30 September at 21
East Windsor Court at 7pm.
