Hankes Bridge - President Austin stated that PCA has had several conversations with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the Village of Sugar Grove; Geoff Payton 630-466-7508 x13 (Village) and Sugar Grove Township; Greg Huggins 630-466-4274 (Township) as to the responsibility of maintaining the Hankes Bridge over Route 56. For the time being, the Village and Township have agreed to jointly maintain the bridge. The two entities will take turns each month maintain the bridge. The Village will have responsibility in February, Township will have responsibility in March, Village will have April, Township will have May, etc.   Any changes to this schedule will be reported to the community.

This information is for the residents who pay for trash removal through their Prestbury assessments only.

Advanced Disposal delivered 65 gallon carts for trash and recycle.

Larger 95 gallon trash carts we exchanged for those who have requested.

Smaller 35 gallon carts:  Advanced has 10-15 trash carts available. Residents can contact Advanced Disposal directly to secure a smaller cart. Call 630-587-8282. The carts will be available on a first come, first served basis.

The January 2016 Annual Meeting Newsletter is here!

In the never ending saga of “the bridge over route 56” there were a number of fast and furious calls made late Friday afternoon between the State of Illinois, the Village of Sugar Grove , State Senator Jim Oberweis’s office and Prestbury in an effort to define responsibility and at the same time affect the needed repairs to the bridge. The bridge was in fact repaired temporarily by the village late Friday afternoon.

Understanding that Prestbury has no legal responsibility for the maintenance and or the repair bridge, it does have an interest as it relates to our community’s use and its safety while using it.

To that end our Board Office and Board President have been in contact with the various parties involved with the ongoing problem and the following is our current understanding of where we are at this point of time.

While no party has fully accepted responsibility for the bridge the Village of Sugar Grove will be working with the Township of Sugar Grove Highway commissioner in addressing the maintenance issues temporarily while their attorneys strive to work out who in fact has overall legal responsibility for the bridge.

Please know that at this point in time even the above is still a work in progress and should you need assistance call the village first and let them sort the issue out.

The only sure thing in the mess is that our local representatives are trying to resolve this and now that the attorneys are involved it will take some time.

We will keep you informed as we learn more about what is happening and when.

Thanks for all who jumped in and helped at least get those involved off dead center and moving to secure some kind of long term solution. Way to go Prestbury!!!
