PCA Pool Opening Information - July 10, 2020

We hope everyone remains safe and healthy and has a great time at the pool this summer.  With the ever-changing world we live in, new plans had to be set in place to allow the pools to open this summer. On June 26th, the Illinois Department of Public Health issued swimming facility guidelines that will allow pools to re-open in Phase 4 of the State’s recovery plan.  The plan is to re-open the Prestbury Pool on July 13, 2020, presuming there are no changes in guidance from the Governor’s office or the Illinois Department of Public Health. All policies relating to the pool’s use in 2020 are being implemented consistent with current public health guidance, and with the health and safety of all who use or work at our pool as the primary focus.  If we cannot provide a safe environment for our residents and staff, we cannot open the pool, or may even have to close after opening if guidelines are not followed. To that end, we need everyone’s cooperation in adhering to all guidelines and rules, even those rules that we find to be cumbersome, different, or undesirable.
 
The opening of the pool does not warranty safety or eliminate the risk of the virus.  Your health and safety are your own responsibility and you should make informed decisions based upon personal preference and all governmental mandates, CDC, and health department recommendations.  Neither the PCA Board of Directors, the Management Team at Associa and PCA’s retained attorneys, or the Chicagoland Swimming Pool Management Systems/Pool Guards are responsible for your health. Please adhere to all mandates and recommendations listed below. Residents should take their own steps to ensure their own sanitization. This is not the responsibility of the above-mentioned groups. Your entrance to the facility confirms you are aware of your expectations as listed in this letter.
 
Pool operating rules and information:

  • No more than 50 guests can be in the PCA pool areas at one time. (does not include lifeguards/staff)
  • 4 swimming time slots will be available, each day:
    • 10am – 12pm
    • 12:30pm – 2:30pm
    • 3pm – 5pm
    • 530pm – 730pm
  • The pool will be closed to residents before, in-between, and after these available time slots, to allow for proper sanitization.
  • Reservations will be made online using the website https://prestbury.getomnify.com/.
  • If you plan to bring household members with you, you MUST choose to Select Attendees when making your reservation (+ Add Users the first time). Once they are added, they can be used on future reservations.
  • Residents can only reserve one slot per day, and can only reserve one week ahead of time.
  • If you need to cancel your reservation, go to your Profile, select My Schedule, open the Details button, scroll down and choose Cancel Booking.
  • Walk-in residents may be admitted if on-line registrants fail to show up on time.
  • If we determine demand exceeds pool capacity routinely, we may move to an alternate day use plan.
  • If factors such as weather do not allow residents to use their reserved time slot, a new reservation must be made by the Resident or if space allows, can return in a later slot as a walk-in.
  • Pool use is limited to Prestbury residents only. No guests, guardians, or relatives that do not reside in Prestbury will be allowed entrance.
  • Must have a valid Prestbury ID to enter to pool. If a Prestbury ID has been issued in the past, no need to renew it. (Prestbury photo ID’s can be taken during PCA office hours 9AM to 2:30 PM)
  • No one under 14 admitted without parent or guardian.
  • Residents will not use the locker rooms to enter/exit the pool. This will be accomplished by asking residents to enter the pool area at the gate near the kiddie pool. A line will form along the sidewalk in front of the PCA office/Cheshire Club, with residents staying 6 feet away from the next person in line to allow for social distancing. Signs will be placed marking where the line should start.
  • Masks must be worn when entering and exiting the pool area.
  • Do not go to the pool if you have felt sick in the last 48 hours.
  • Temperature checks will be performed prior to entering the pool. Anyone exhibiting a fever (above 100.4F temperature) or COVID-19 symptoms should leave the facility. Cleaning and disinfecting will then be performed as recommended by IDPH and CDC guidelines.
  • The kiddie pool will be open.
  • All pool toys, including noodles and rafts are not allowed.
  • Safety flotation devices such as puddle-jumpers and life-jackets are permitted.
  • Operators, employees, and residents are required to wear face coverings when not engaged in swimming activities.  Exceptions can be made for children younger than 2 years of age or people with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering.
  • Social distancing signs and face mask requirement signs will be posted throughout the area. Guests must follow the requirements.
  • Maintain at least 6 feet separation from others who are not in your individual group both in the water and on the deck. Please use the marked locations on the deck to help ensure proper distancing is maintained.
  • Wash, disinfect, or sanitize your hands after any interaction with employees, other residents, guests or items that you touch.
  • Hand sanitizers will be made available.
  • Pool lounge chairs will be stacked and are not available for use. To save time between pool time slots and to reduce the number of items the pool staff has to disinfect, pool chairs will not be in use this season. Residents are advised to bring their own chairs and towels.
  • Residents will only be allowed to use the locker rooms for washing hands, showering, or using the bathroom.  No lockers or water fountains will be available except to fill personal water bottles.  To save time, please shower at home before coming to the pool.  Masks must be worn when using the restrooms or filling water bottles.
  • Please bring your own water or non-alcoholic beverages with you. No food will be allowed. No glass containers will be allowed.
  • Vending machine will be closed.
  • Swim at your own risk.
  • If you are delinquent in your assessments, you will not be allowed entrance to the pool.

Staff will have half an hour to sanitize high traffic areas before re-opening for the next time slot. Capacity will be monitored by the pool staff. Guidelines may be revised daily as we better understand guest demand level.

The pool staff, lifeguards and Management have the authority to enforce the pool rules. Proper conduct and adherence to the rules is necessary to ensure the pleasure and comfort of all residents. The attendants have the authority to remove people from the pool waiting line, pool areas, or locker rooms, and to call the Police if necessary.

The pool staff, lifeguards and Management have the authority to close the pools at their discretion due to instances such as air temperature below 68 degrees, rain, severe weather, lightning, mechanical breakdown of equipment, water chemical imbalance, emergency situations, etc.

Anyone found not following the rules or causing a disturbance could result in expulsion from the pool and loss of pool privileges. Anyone found in the pool before or after hours will have their privileges suspended.
